about

I wrote most of this back in like, 2016, when SPOOKY was still fresh, and the biggest Front Bottoms songs I heard circulating were "The Beers" and "Maps." When I heard them, and I read more about the band, I just thought it was funny. This is the result of that, including production meant to mimic that of their kinda messy self-titled album. I hope you enjoy. Or don't. Not sure how comedy mocking famous musicians works.

lyrics

Today I woke up tired
Of being creatively fired up
Want a song like candy, maybe cotton
Guess today I'll just rip off the front bottoms
First you say uncomfortable
Uncomfortably
Listen to the Rent soundtrack
Rip off Marks accent,
It'll be easy
Be sure to include trumpets, especially if they don't match the song
You're practically talking, so don't worry if notes come out wrong
Don't bother reading what you wrote, just hit that high note!
And keep your feelings in full force when you hit that chorus

Make some clap beats clap beats
Cause normal drums are for posers
Use these tips on your album and i promise it'll be a store closer

Make sure your lyrics are quotable, but they don't have to rhyme
Too concentrated on flowers in her irises
To keep verse patterns
What's the difference from literature
To the tips I'm giving you?
Don't worry Shakespeare's dead, it's not like he's gonna rise to correct you

Don't forget clap beats clap beats
Cause normal drums are for posers
Listen to this example verse to get the jist of it, hoser

I skated by her house, wondering if she'd even come out
Rain drops like clown noses how I love when it's glum out
Her dad said cut your hair, and dress your age you're almost thirty
But it's all marketing, the vans and floral make me look flirty
See my whole life's a sham, it's in the hands of pop punk kids
And Weezer's back on top, so any day my career might just bite it

Make some clap beats clap beats
Cause normal drums are for posers
Use these tips on your album and i promise it'll be a store closer
Write in conversation, but make sure to do all the talking
If your indie label wants a duet, now'd be the time to start walking

Make some clap beats clap beats
Cause normal drums are for posers
Use these tips on your album and i promise it'll be a store closer
